Our Approach
Here is our basic approach to a Web-site design project:

Your management team and our design/development team collaborate in re-assessing what the objectives of your web site are or should be to carry out your business strategy. With objectives identified, we will then typically:

Perform an Analysis:

  1. Identify target audience (or audiences)
  2. Find how well this can be achieved and if potential audiences will be catered for fully
  3. Figure out how to measure the success with the target audience.
  4. Benchmark the site against key competitors' sites.
  5. Figure a way to analyze traffic stats for frequently-accessed pages and frequently-used paths.
  6. Identify what about the site requirements would work well, and what doesn't.
  7. Assess the adequacy of localization of the site for target markets.
  8. Verify what the technological expectations of the audience are
  9. Assess needs for technology updates, e.g., how to proceed when the site has grown sufficiently to justify a switch or upgrade
  10. Present the design proposal that best meets those objectives, regardless of the constraints of your budget.

Design:

  1. Design the site based on need; static versus dynamic site
  2. Design structure and navigation to make it as easy as possible for users to get at the content they want
  3. Make sure key content is "above the fold" on every page.
  4. Enhance the site dynamics with rich graphic that compliment the content.
  5. Minimize image file sizes for fast loading.
  6. Create a consistent "look and feel" throughout the site.
  7. Make it easy for users to contact the relevant departments using a customized and subject specific contacts page.
  8. Ensure that target audience expectations and needs are addressed and met
  9. Enhance the entire interface and feel of the site to reflect a more professional, warm and friendly look
  10. Provide functions and features for all requested forums
  11. Provide for a revenue generation scheme; sale of products and services or as required
  12. Make the site stand out among its competitors

What We Consider?

  1. When you are developing a web site, there are several factors that must be considered. It is extremely vital that all components compliment each other and that each page remains focused on the same general goals and outlook of the company as a whole. For this reason, it is imperative to establish an organized and efficient site that promotes visitor use as well as continued client interest.
  2. A properly designed web site should have a strong foundation that can easily be added to as the company grows. This would include not only service information for end-users, but also informative content.
  3. In addition, the site should be designed in a way that provides high visibility of important information to visitors, drives high-traffic and repeat-traffic to the site, and promotes continual consumer use as well as new client interest.

Important Note: You must establish the purpose of your web site in advance - What do you want it to do? A web site is doomed to failure if its foundation is unclear or based on only one aspect (i.e., content, design, etc.) A successful site will include all of these aspects.

A successful web site must also utilize design diversity. For instance, a highly technical site may have incredible capabilities, but usually lacks the aesthetic value and user-friendliness necessary to satisfy the needs of your target market. On the other hand, a site developed solely on the basis of graphical content may look wonderful and appear user-friendly, but will inevitably lack the necessary back-end structure and technical capabilities which would allow it to function in the manner in which it was intended. For these reasons, you must have a developer who understands the overall goal and can bring these individual pieces together into a well-built, well-functioning user-friendly site.

Evaluate the results:

  1. Test the redesigned site for usability, and re-benchmark against competitors.
  2. Based on the results of testing and benchmarking, tweak the redesign to optimize effectiveness.

Deploy and promote:

  1. Post the redesigned site to the server.
  2. Update and optimize search keywords, optimize the site for search-engine ranking and submit the redesigned site to key search engines and directories.
  3. Work with you to identify and implement other needed features and functions
  4. Maintain and manage the site for optimum performance

Optional offerings:

  1. Affordable hosting on our servers.
  2. affordable maintenance and support
  3. Manage future site updates, add-ons and upgrades.

General Timeline:

We will work closely with you to get your input during each project phase in order to deliver a site that meets your exact needs. The standard phases are:

Phase 1 - Planning & Storyboarding
Because this is the basis for the entire site design, it is imperative to spend an adequate amount of time setting up the site parameters. We will need to work closely with you to determine several factors including, but not limited to: timeline, budget, content specifications (how will it be provided; electronic or paper, etc.), additional site needs, etc. This phase could take about a week or two depending on the time dedicated to it by your team.

Phase 2 - Initial Development
During this phase the site is taken "off the drawing board" and onto the web. This is the longest of all phases and, due to the amount content which will need to be added to the site, an in case where content is not ready, may stretch the timeline even further. Again, this will depend upon what we establish in Phase 1, especially where the content writing and editing is concerned. This phase is estimated to take at least 4 - 6 weeks

Phase 3 - Editing & Changes
After a joint review and edit of the new site, any and all necessary changes will be made. This phase does not need to take a long time and can be drastically shortened if we work closely with one another throughout Phases 1 and 2. This could be done in about a week.

Phase 4 - Testing
It is imperative to thoroughly check the site for such things as browser compatibility, broken hyperlinks, and errors in submit forms to make sure everything is working properly. This process usually takes a few days, depending upon the "bugs" found.

Phase 5 - Delivery & Launch
Once everything has been tested, the final pages and graphics will be loaded onto the server and the project will be completed. If you would prefer to have the new pages uploaded along the way; that is a feasible option as well, but will need to be done on a sectional basis so as to maintain functionality.

Project Length:

It is important to set a desired launch date in order to establish an achievable timeline that the development process will follow.

We will need to know in advance who will be responsible for providing additional  content. Development time can be shortened if the existing content is available in an electronic format and/or the updates necessary for each page are provided electronically.
